About Painted with Love

I paint every single heart, canvas and sign free-hand and to order to make it completely unique.  I can also get all sorts of shapes and sizes cut especially if need be.  And no cheating or shortcuts - I'm very pernicketty and like things to be perfect, so I use the best quality artists' materials and prepare my surfaces properly, so they'll be just as beautiful in years to come.

Commissions

I paint absolutely everything on commission. I'm always very happy to discuss any ideas you might have for a piece of artwork so please do get in touch. Click here to find out more information about commissions.

You can see examples of my recent work in my galleries and buy some of my work online, but if you'd like to order anything please just get in touch.  I take payment in advance of starting work, either by BACS transfer or through invoice on my website.. 

About me

My name is Claire Witz and I am "Painted with Love".

I've been painting for just about as long as I can remember.  About a million years ago I spent a whole 9 weeks at art college (I was going through my angst & moody period at the time and painted a lot of meat carcasses and miserable portraits), then I went to uni to do Arabic & Islamic Studies and lived in North Africa for a while. 

After that I somehow ended up in a very sensible career in London for years and years, which didn't fit in the slightest when our 2 children came along.  That led me to finally taking the plunge in 2009 to fulfill my dream of being covered head to toe in paint and making the most of my children while they're still young enough to want to play with their mummy. 

I now live in the lovely old spa town Tunbridge Wells with my hubby (also known as Executive Sign Cutter, Fixer of Things and Driller of Holes in Hearts) and two beautiful children.  I like chatting around the kitchen table, family cuddles, poking around in charity shops, half a sugar in my tea (that doesn't count you know) and walks in the woods.  I positively hate cycling up hills and the smell of my hubby's sardines on toast.

Because I'm a mum with a business and I like organising things (I actually own a clipboard), I also run the Tunbridge Wells Mums in Business (TW MIBs) group and have met lots of lovely people in the same boat.  We're all figuring out how to make a business out of our passions and make the most of our children at the same time.

Events

I occasionally exhibit at craft fairs, children's nearly new sales, private parties and charity events in and around Tunbridge Wells. You can find details of them on the news page.

I spontaneously ordered a canvas picture representing our family for my husband's anniversary present. Claire helped me personalise it by suggesting she neatly paint all our names and dates of birth on the back. When a mistake on my part led to an error, she very kindly repainted that part of the canvas, without extra charge or even making me feel silly! She went out of her way with lots of imaginative ideas and even purchased additional accessories to create the perfect canvas which was beautifully crafted and very unique.
